WILMINGTON: James Michael Lux passed away peacefully and surrounded by love, at the age of 51 on October 2, 2022, with his devoted wife and mother by his side.
James was born in Granite City, IL to James Alvin Lux and Carolyn Sue Dowdy Lux on September 22, 1971. He married Colleen Denise Clemens on September 21, 1991 in Rome, NY where he served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a skilled tradesmen who loved welding and plumbing. He learned both of these trades while working for Clemens Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning where he was mentored by his father in law, Gary Clemens. He then moved his family to Missouri where he utilized his numerous welding certifications while working for the Plumber, Pipefitter Union and later with his brother, Tony Lux, at Luxury Business Systems. When James relocated to North Carolina with his wife and 3 children he found a home at Signature Plumbing where he worked for many years with an employer and coworkers he would come to call friends and considered family. James loved hunting and fishing, a backyard barbecue, and especially his morning coffee.
He is preceded in death by his father James Alvin Lux.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years Colleen Denise Lux. His daughters Samantha Denise Lux and Lindsay Paige Malpass. His sons James Jeffrey Lux and Bradley Michael Lux. His mother Carolyn Sue Lux. Siblings, Richard Anthony and Jayna Lux, Tiffany and Russell Ervin. His nieces Alexa, Erinn, and Everleigh and his nephews Parker and Austin. As well as his father and mother in-law, Gary and Barbara Clemens and his brother in-law Jeff Clemens.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 6th, 2022, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at Pour Tap Room -- 201 N. Front St., Wilmington, NC 28401
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in James’s name to the Humane Society or animal rescue near you.
