Michael "Mike" Phillip Beaudoin

Michael "Mike" Phillip Beaudoin, 76, of 220 Wetland Drive Wilmington, NC, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, surrounded by family at the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center in Wilmington, NC.

Mike was born in Plattsburgh, NY on August 19, 1948, and was the son of the late Glendon and Rita Beaudoin.

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education, Master of Science in Education, and Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Plattsburgh State University. He began his career as a fourth grade teacher for Plattsburgh City Schools, but spent the bulk of his professional career as an executive for PBS, CBS, and NBC affiliates.

A lifelong Rotarian, and Paul Harris Fellow, he served as the President of Plattsburgh Rotary (1987-1988), Schenectady Rotary (1997 – 1998), Wilmington Downtown Rotary (2016-2017), and most recently as the Assistant Regional Governor for Rotary District 7730 (2023-2024). His involvement in Rotary offered him the opportunity to participate in humanitarian programs in Ecuador, Honduras, and Guyana. Mike also served as President of the United Way of the Adirondack Region (1987-1988) and as a member of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Board of Education (2002-2003). One of his favorite quotes was from Albert Schweitzer, "In gratitude for your own good fortune you must render in return some sacrifice of your life for other life."

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Gayle Debora Beaudoin; his son, Adam M. Beaudoin (Virginia) of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Paige Ashley Beaudoin of New York, NY; two grandchildren, Mary Clare Beaudoin and Aksel Beaudoin of Wilmington, NC; as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
His greatest loves were family, golf, travel, the New York Yankees, and telling a good story.

A Memorial Service to honor Mike's life well lived will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 2:00pm at Port City Community Church (250 Vision Drive Wilmington, NC 28403).
