Wilma Batten

LELAND: Wilma Lee Batten, 74, died Thursday, September 26th, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear Life Hospice Care Center in Wilmington, NC surrounded by loved ones. Wilma was known by most as Lee and was born in Randleman, NC to Claude and Ethel Hunt. She moved to Leland with her family in the late 1980s where she has resided since. She was a very successful real estate agent before her retirement. She was also a hairdresser and owned her own salon in her younger years. Lee always had so much spunk and determination. She could do anything she put her mind to. Christmas was always her favorite holiday. She loved spoiling her grandchildren.
She was a big jewelry enthusiast and animal lover. She could identify any gem. She also loved gardening and had quite the green thumb. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie, an older brother, and her two sisters. Lee is survived by her younger brother, children, grandchildren, and a great grandson. Lee will be cherished and missed greatly but always remembered for her strength. Aquamation services are entrusted to Tranquility Cremation by Aquamation in Wilmington.
