George Hiram Patrick III passed away on January 18, 2024, in Wilmington, North Carolina. He was born in Michigan on October 13, 1954. George was the loving husband of Sharon Lee Patrick (nee Bernard), and their love story was one for the ages.
George had a deep appreciation for 70s music and county music, and he sang in church choirs. Music filled his life with joy and nostalgia. He could often be found singing along to his favorite tunes, reminiscing about the good old days. His love for music was a reflection of his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
It was at a bar where George's life took a beautiful turn. When Sharon first laid eyes on him, he was wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, a pipe in hand, and a beautiful long, luscious beard. Despite his initial reluctance to dance, George swept Sharon off her feet, and they danced the night away. It was a moment that would forever be etched in their hearts and marked the beginning of a love story that would span a lifetime.
George will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was a loving and supportive husband, always there to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear. His love for Sharon was evident in every gesture, every word, and every dance they shared.
In addition to his wife, George is survived by five children, eight grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever hold him dear. While the pain of his loss is immeasurable, the memories of his love and laughter will bring comfort and solace in the days to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association in George's name.
George Hiram Patrick III will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
