Robert Wayne Muncy, Jr (Chip), 66, of Richmond, VA passed away on January 6, 2024. Chip was born on November 12, 1957 to Robert W. Muncy, Sr. and Lettie V. Muncy in Richmond, VA. He joined the Henrico County Police Force in 1979 and served the people for 30 years in various capacities, including Uniform Operations – C platoon, Criminal Investigations, and School Resource Officer. Chip always cherished the brotherhood he experienced being a part of this organization. Upon retiring from the Police Force, he joined the team at the Masonic Home of Virginia as a chauffeur, taking the residents to appointments and outings.
Chip was a member of Varina Episcopal Church, having served in various leadership positions. He was also a Master Mason, life member in perpetuity in good standing of the Sandston Masonic Lodge #216, A.F. and A.M.
Chip was predeceased by his father, his paternal grandparents Albert and Arlene Muncy, and his maternal grandparents George and Irene Wagner. He is survived by his mother, his sister Renee Angle and husband Fletcher, his brother James and wife Beatrice, his son Matthew and wife Abby and their son Gabriel, his son Joseph, his daughter Amy, a nephew Stuart Pearman and family, and a niece Cristina Muncy. Chip’s children and grandson were the joys of his life.
Woodworking was one of Chip’s favorite past times, as was hunting with his dog Duchess. He was an avid swimmer and loved the ocean. In his later years, he truly enjoyed reading poetry, learning about ancient history, art, and traveling. Chip was also known to be quick with a prank or two.
