Thomas Joseph White Jr.

November 4, 1936 — February 12, 2024

Thomas J. White Jr., was born on November 4, 1936, in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Margaret Fitzgerald White
and Thomas J. White Sr. (He was predeceased by his daughter
and son in law Donna and Greg Papapetru, his brother in-law
Robert Gerard. and nephew James F. Beers. He is survived by
his wife of (63) years Jeanne F. White, son, Thomas N. White
(Shannon), daughters Dr. Kathleen White (Dr. Ken Donovan),
Nancy DelBene, and Phanida Bradley (Max). He is also survived
by his sister Margaret Beers (Thomas ) sister in laws Betty
Colavita (Leon), Dianne Wilson (Gary) Kathy Gerard, and brother
in law James Farrell (Sandra) He also survived by 9
grandchildren Christopher Enhelder, Thomas and Louis White,
Keegan and Keileigh Donovan, Logan and Max Del Bene, and
Owen and Beckham Bradley. Three great grandchildren Simon,
Thomas and Victoria White.

Tom graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Westfield N.J.
and graduated from, Rutgers University with a BS degree in
Business Management. He received a certificate from the
Rutgers RAMP Program. He also served 14 years in the Army
Reserve National Guard as a commissioned Officer. While living
in Cranford New jersey he served as a member and president of
the Cranford Board of Education. Thomas held the positions of
industrial engineer, project manager and plant manager for
Phelps Dodge Corp.

In 1975 he was transferred to Phelps Dodge International Corp.
and held positions of Project Manager, Plant Manager, Vice
President, Director and President of Companies in Iran,
Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and India. Tom also was a
board member and Vice president and President of the
American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand and a Board
Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore,
and chairman of the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers
of Commerce an organization of 14 Chambers in Asia. He also
served as President of the International Copper Association in
Singapore.

After retiring from Phelps Dodge, he served as a consultant in
Mexico, a Director of Essex Wire in Singapore, Consultant and
Interim President of CODELCO in in the Dominican Republic and
Consultant to the Telephone Company in Trinidad and Tobago.
Tom and Jeanne retired in 2000 to Wilmington NC. Tom served
as Vice President, President and Director of the Senior Men’s
Club of Wilmington and was a member of the Cape Fear Power
Squadron. Tom and Jeanne had ( 63 ) adventurous years
together raising five children, traveling the world visiting 67
countries all seven continents and 37 states.
